Matt has worked at the Sheriff’s Office for about 13 years and has been involved in many of the
functions/divisions of the Office. Matt is currently a Captain of the Administration division and
previously served as the Jail Captain and patrol sergeant as well as Public Information Officer.
Matt is also a graduate of the FBI National Training Academy which is the premier law
enforcement training provider in the US. His unique experience has given him a very broad and
knowledgeable background on which to base his future work at the Sheriff’s Office.
Captain Turner served 7 years in the United States Army and the Colorado Army National
Guard. He was awarded the Purple Heart Award while deployed in Iraq in 2007. We here in
Weld County have a unique opportunity to honor an American Patriot and a hard-working Weld
County Deputy with our trust by asking him to represent us as our next County Sheriff.
